AMA Kicks Off the Semester: Meeting Recaps & Get Involved

So far, the fall semester has been off to an eventful start! We’ve had insightful guest speakers and hands-on workshops. We’ve already hosted two informational member meetings that have truly set the tone for the rest of the year. Here’s a quick recap, plus a reminder on how to make sure you’re an active member.

Membership Reminder

You can easily send your $45 membership fee to @NCStateAMA on Venmo. We also accept cash or check! Staying current ensures you’re part of everything we have planned this semester.

1st Member Meeting featuring GALLO

Our first meeting of the semester featured a guest speaker from Gallo Winery, who shared valuable insights into the beverage industry along with career advice.

Members also had the opportunity to test their skills by guessing wine flavors based on scents from various wines currently on the market. It was an engaging, hands-on experience with over 55 people in attendance. To make the activity even more exciting, the speakers handed out surprise gifts to those who guessed the correct wine essence.

2nd Member Meeting - LinkedIn

Next, we hosted a LinkedIn Workshop focused on building a professional profile that stands out. Members worked on optimizing their profiles, highlighting experiences, and learning how to network effectively with professionals on the platform. They also learned what is appropriate to post on linkedIn about their personal lives. Overall, LinkedIn isn’t just an online résumé, it’s a powerful networking tool.
