Freelance Graphic Designer

The role is in-person, two-three days a week for five hours a day, and pays $15/hour. We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule, ideally a freelancer who can also be available to help out with events, like our upcoming Best Bars party! 

 

Proficiency in Adobe Suite is required, especially InDesign. Tasks will include editing and converting photos for print and digital, single and half-page editorial design, ad design updates, and WordPress uploading. More creative and broader design projects will be assigned based on the ability to perform these basic tasks. We want someone who is excited to represent our community and contribute to the Voice of the City!

Director of Marketing and Public Relations

Type: On-site, Full time                 Salary Range: $52,000 – $60,000

The Carolina Theatre’s Director of Marketing & Public Relations is responsible for all aspects of marketing, public relations, and promotion for Carolina Theatre and Crown events including Carolina Theatre Presents, Carolina Classic and Holiday Movies, rental marketing support, and general branding of corporate image. The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic thinker who can craft and execute innovative marketing campaigns, manage a wide array of digital and traditional marketing channels, and maintain the brand identity of a historic theater with a diverse events calendar.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive marketing and public relations strategies, including press releases, annual reports, e-newsletters, social media content, and digital ad campaigns, ensuring alignment with the Carolina Theatre Brand Guide and optimizing campaign effectiveness through KPIs and analysis.

  • Manage and update the theatre's website, printed collateral (e.g., posters, brochures, playbills), and community outreach materials, maintaining accessibility, SEO, and user-friendly features for all audiences.

  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to secure press coverage and promote events, rentals, and collaborations, while professionally engaging with the social media audience.

  • Supervise the Marketing Assistant and facilitate the marketing committee, serving as a liaison with board committees to align strategies and goals.

  • Support theatre events and stay current with marketing best practices to implement improvements, ensuring the theatre remains competitive and innovative.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent experience, with at least two years of professional work in related fields.

  • Proficient in marketing tools and platforms, including Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Suite, email marketing tools (Mailchimp or Constant Contact), Google Analytics, WordPress, and Microsoft Office.

  • Skilled in creating accurate, engaging marketing materials and possessing excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and represent the theatre publicly.

  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with a dependable work ethic.

Marketing Internship - Summer 2025

Interns will work closely with LinkedIn’s world class Talent Solutions, Sales & Marketing Solutions or Consumer Marketing teams and learn about being a marketing professional. While the function of the internship will remain relatively similar across all teams, the responsibilities and projects will differ according to the specific team you are aligned with.  

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with executing marketing strategy, campaigns, and events 

  • Work closely with cross-functional marketing teams to drive the business & product marketing strategy 

  • Help build internal microsites 

  • End-to-end development of marketing assets

  • Assist the Marketing Manager – Broadway and Marketing Manager – Concerts, Comedy, and Special Events in all efforts to maintain and enhance DPAC’s marketing for upcoming performances through maximized efforts of selling tickets and maintaining DPAC’s values, mission and brand.

  • Overseeing creation of venue assets, constructing marketing settlements, and departmental support
