NC State AMA’s Marketing Week Recap: Experience the AMA Impact

NC State AMA celebrated Marketing Week from October 20–23, inviting students to “Experience the AMA Impact” through events centered on service and professional development. 


Monday 10/20: Make-A-Wish Volunteer Event

On October 20th, AMA members partnered with Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina at their Raleigh office to support local wish-granting efforts. Volunteers assembled wish-delivery folders, learning how storytelling and brand experience play a powerful role in nonprofit marketing and community engagement.



Tuesday 10/21: Walk West Digital Marketing Workshop

Members joined agency professionals from Walk West, including NC State AMA alumni, for an interactive digital strategy workshop in Nelson Hall. The session covered analytics, paid media, and career preparation, followed by a collaborative challenge: “What Can RDU Do With a $50K Marketing Budget?” Students practiced campaign development and presentation skills, gaining firsthand insight into agency life and marketing strategy.



Wednesday 10/22: Pie an Exec Board Member Fundraiser

In a fun turn of events, AMA hosted a “Pie an Exec Board Member” fundraiser on Stafford Commons. The event drew more than 100 student interactions and raised $150, offering a fun, high-visibility way for students to connect with AMA leadership and learn more about chapter involvement.


Thursday 10/23: Influencer Night with Good Molecules

The week concluded with Good Molecules Brand Ambassador Mastewal Bailey, who led a discussion on influencer marketing, authenticity, and digital storytelling.


Members participated in a short-form content challenge and received product samples, gaining practical insight into brand partnerships and content creation.

The week showcased how marketing extends beyond the classroom and highlighted the value of AMA’s campus and industry network.
